Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Every time I connect my iPod I'm greeted with a prompt stating:

"Do you want to initialize your iPod?

Rhythmbox has detected a device that is probably an uninitialised or corrupted iPod. It must be initialised before Rhythmbox can use it, but this will destroy any song metadata already present. If you wish Rhythmbox to initialise the iPod, please fill in the information below. If the device is not an iPod, or you do not wish to initialise it, please click cancel."

My 4G 40MB iPod is formatted for Windows and also has a Linux OS partition. The choice presented is for iPod Shuffle. After cancelling, iPod partition is visible and working, then Linux partition is also connected, both without possibility to sync.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. If you could test the current Ubuntu development version, this would help us a lot. If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs relevant for this particular issue.
