Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

The "On Battery Power" settings tab is never shown in the Power Management tool, regardless of whether or not it's on AC or battery power. The computer can correctly tell when it's been unplugged (and gives an estimate of battery life), so it's not an issue of not seeing the battery.

This is in Karmic, on an Acer Aspire 6930.

Has anyone checked the 32bit version of the software on this laptop type to make sure that it's the amd64 apport that's the problem, and not something weird with the laptop?
I only ask because of this bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-power-manager/+bug/500238

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. A new version of GNOME Power Manager is available on Maverick and we are wondering if this bug is still an issue for you with that version? Could you please test and comment back? Thanks in advance.
