Same problem here, just did an upgrade from 9.04 to 9.10

It generates a crash report, just after plugging in any kind of device on peripherals ports or mounting partitions. Can be reproduced on Live CD, where you can actually use the devices and then comes the report, or after a fresh install, where the computer / laptop won't recognize the device and then shows the report before or after removing it.

This error came when I connected to wireless internet or when there was an invitation to install a modem driver that I closed, since I was trying the "live CD" Ubuntu 9.10 i386.

I fixed it by installing the new kernel. Downloaded at http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.32/, you have to download 3 files, image, headers and all, I don't remember the order now, but one won't proceed installation if something missing. Good luck!

Same problem it seems. Resorting to viruses to prevent PC owners from using whatever OS is preferred? Not good.
