Bug Description

SmartEiffel has had three new releases since the 3 years old 1.1

It has many new great things:
 - a real documentation system
 - the "se" command
 - the possibility to not use the SmartEiffel environment variable (using a standard location for the configuration file: /etc/serc - which can be changed with a simple patch to the source)
 - language evolutions
 - new libraries

Please look at http://SmartEiffel.loria.fr

Cheers,

Cyril - of the SmartEiffel team

It looks like SmartEiffel is almost unmaintained in Debian too, have you
talked to the Debian maintainer about this?

In olden times I talked to Oliver Elphick but I did not contact the
new Debian maintainer. Someone in our team has been charged to do just
that so I guess I'll have to wait for the Debian package to be
updated?

Good news: smarteiffel2 and smarteiffel2-* packages have been uploaded to sid.
What is the way to have them included in Ubuntu?
Thanks
Cyril

It appears that the smarteiffel2 packages in gutsy FTBFS. Build logs are available from https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/gutsy/+source/smarteiffel2/2.2.99.beta3.2.svn8415-1.

It was synced to hardy where it still failed to build from source for all architectures.

Why was that package removed???

I closed the gutsy task because Gutsy Gibbon 7.10 is no longer supported.
Hardy and Intrepid were closed because the package is not present in the repositories anymore, as Luca has well-explained.

I had understood that, thanks all the same.

But, why was the PACKAGE removed?
