upgrade 9.04 to 9.10 didn't work

Bug Description

upgrade 9.04 to 9.10 didn't work; system didn't start after upgrade; manual repairing btw. upgrade with 9.10 live-cd run in trouble because same events happend (disk_??? stopped; ubi??? stopped ...) and grub had finaly no permisson to write to harddisk :-(

could not solve the problem with my skills. i stopped installation, saved data and installed again with live-cd ("green-field-installation" with new ext4 partition and all other suggestions...) and now grub2 worked without failure and 9.10 has been installed and works as hoped for.

This report lacks sufficient information to describe a bug. If it were fresh it would be a candidate to convert to a question, but since it is so old and it sounds like the original reporter managed to resolve the issue, I am closing this report.
