Bug Description

OS: Ubuntu 9.10 x64.

I have created a free account in Ubuntu one, and I am having only one PC, a laptop. However it prompts me again and again, to add the machine, as if it is a different machine, and now two machines are listed in "Computers on your account".

I have erased one or more such entries previously.

More info in case it matters:

I have installed Ubuntu 9.10 x64 from alternative installer CD with disk encryption.

Currently the same PC (a laptop) was added in my "Your machines" list. I am sending attached a screenshot.

Hi Loannis and larsemil,

When you are prompted to add your computer again, can you check the following and report back here?

1) Open Applications->Internet->Ubuntu One
2) Click on the Passwords tab and report here if you have an Ubuntu One token there

Thank you,

Joshua

Oops! The first step should be:

1) Open Applications->Accessories->Passwords and Encryption Keys

It happened again. It prompted me again, for my laptop, as if it is a
new one.

I am sending the info you asked as a screenshot attached (my various
non-related info, like pop3 etc info, are erased).

I run 9.10, with a wireless internet connection, FF3.5, and an encrypted /home from the LiveCD installer. Each time I log on to Ubuntu, FF opens itself and prompts me to log in to Launchpad.net/UbuntuOne. At this stage, and everytime I reboot, it asks me to authenticate a new computer. I have a password in my keyring for each and every time I have rebooted now. Under the computer's associated with the account option on UbuntuOne, each entry has my computers name with a different string of numbers attached. This has only been occuring since upgrading from 9.10b to 9.10 release.

I have nott experienced this bug again

for quite some time, so I assume this specific bug has been fixed.

If everyone that reported this *specific* issue here still experiences it, please post a reply, otherwise I think the status should be changed to Fixed or Incomplete.

I've this bug actually.
On the same subnet at my home, i have one Laptop on which UbuntuOne work perfectly and two DesktopPC on which i've tried to remove completly UbuntuOne (~/.config/UbutnuOne & ~/.cache/UbuntuOne), clearing the key pair and reinstall it : UbuntuOne won't connect and still ask for adding computeraccount again and again .....

This is not resolved at all !

@Flash
Sorry you are still experiencing this problem.
what version of ubuntuone-client are you running. The one in karmic-proposed repository has added a lot of fixes.
Open a Terminal ( Applications > Accesories > Terminal) and run the following:

dpkg -l ubuntuone-client

if you have ubuntuclient 1.0.2 there is a newer one you can install. See this link:
