KARMIC Update manager will not run

Binary package hint: update-manager

Just upgraded to Karmic today.Firstly during the installation i had 5 'Could not install messages'

Update manager will not run,through a Terminal I get

Thanks for your bugreport.

Please open a terminal and run:
$ sudo apt-get clean
$ sudo apt-get install -f

that should re-install python-apt and openoffice.org-common

Please also run a fsck on your filesytem and a memory test, the above failure can be caused by filesystem or memory courrption.

Ok I ran those 2 terminal commands which gave me back access to update manager/synaptic etc. I did still however get an error message about open office(lost it). Went to synaptic broken dependencies,there was 6 including openoffice. was able to re-installed all except open office. Re-booted and in applications-office there was no openoffice suite so I re installed it and all seems fine.

 Right I thought everything was solved but then i got this crash report.

Just wondering...should i post other bugs since karmic update in here. such as some more crash reports...FF crashes and CPU maxing out when youtube vid is played? Thanks
