Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase

Description: Ubuntu 9.10
Release: 9.10

dolphin:
  Installed: 4:4.3.2-0ubuntu3
  Candidate: 4:4.3.2-0ubuntu3
  Version table:
 *** 4:4.3.2-0ubuntu3 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

This always happens when I am browsing SMB sources. I can work with the smb source for a few seconds (7-10 sec) before my dolphin instance freezes. Sometimes, it will release and I can continue what I was doing after 20 seconds. Other times, it will crash.

Could you please install kdebase-dbg and try to get a backtrace of the crash from the KDE crash handler? (Testing with KDE 4.3.3 would also be appreciated: http://www.kubuntu.org/news/kde-4.3.3

I installed kde 4.3.3 yesterday and will continue to test for this. So far, in the brief time I have looked at it this morning, things are looking better.

Thank you for the follow up Jonathan!

Great! I'll close this, but feel free to reopen if the crash occurs again. (Preferably with a backtrace as I mentioned in my last comment.)
Thanks.
