could not install upgrade 8.04 to 9.10

Binary package hint: update-manager

not sure what happened finished downloading packages for upgrade from 8.04 to 9.10 and this is what I got!!!

Ted, what happened? Did all packages get downloaded OK? Did update-manager start installing the new packages? Could you attatch all files in /var/log/dist-upgrade to this bug report so we have a chance at debugging the problem?

The update-manager did finish downloading all the packages. It broken when it
was trying to install/configure the new packages. Sorry, that I don't remember
the error it gave me.

That was when I dropped to a command line and started various apt-get -f
install and apt-get dist-upgrade and discovered that there was a dependency
problem with oppenoffice.org and I eventually removed openoffice.org-core and apt-
get dist-upgrade was able to complete installing/configuring packages.

I did attach a tar file with all the dist-upgrade files plus my menu.lst. They
look like they are there?
