"run terminal" Keyboard Shortcut can't be set to "WIN_L"

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon

After a clean install of Ubuntu Karmic(9.10), setting the keyboard
shortcut for running a terminal to "windows" left button does not work.
Any other combination of keys works.

That's not really a bug, and it's not anything to do with gnome-settings-daemon anyway. The Super key is a modifier key (like CTRL, ALT or Shift), and is already used in combination with other keys for other shortcuts
