Firefox 3.5 causes X server to crash

I had a similar problem, I got bumped out of my X session twice today because of Firefox. In both cases, I had a java applet running, maybe related to bug 429476?

got the same problem...happens almost every five to ten minutes for me::

cviorel, Pappa: can you please explain if you used java content when X crashed? I have the feeling that this is java-related. Maybe we have to file against sun-java6?

bernhard: it's all been on all sort of pages non with java as far as i know...it's also inconsistent the same page that crashes it one time works dandy the other...confusing if u ask me...

Hmm, in my case it's clearly a java issue because I also have X crashes with java content in Chromium browser.

I suspect Firefox as causing X to freeze. Sometimes mouse is movable but non-functional, sometimes it is also frozen. Keyboard is active when mouse is movable. However, the system is very unstable and most likely is on its way to a full-freeze. For example, I can't log out or restart the system via the desktop menu.

System stays up varying amounts of time after Firefox is started. System can run for days (and largely idle) if Firefox isn't started.

Would like to contribute to this thread - what can I do to help narrow down the issue?
