Bug Description

I installed Karmic AMD64 RC on a 4GB USB pendrive.
The LiveCD booted Xorg with no problem, but after install on the pendrive during the boot process the kernel doesn't load nvidia driver and in the Xorg.log is the following error (EE) open /dev/fb0: No such file or directory
No GDM, only the wokring (loading) mouse cursor for a second and then the X crashes, back to tty and then back X for a second and then crash and still looping.
Can provide video or Xorg.conf if needed.

I've installed the final Karmic AMD64 on the 4GB USB pendrive and the X works. Now the hardware drivers doesn't show my GeForce and I can't install the proprietary driver :P

Hmm, no clear error message shown in the files you provided. Yes, please provide additional information you can find. It would be helpful to see the apt and dpkg log files for example.

Btw, please don't post files as a tarball, since that makes extra steps for whomever will be looking at your bug.

Could you please find and attach your build log that shows this issue? The file will be found someplace like:

 /var/lib/dkms/nvidia/185.18.36/build/make.log

The numbered directory may be different depending on what version you have installed, but if you poke around it should be somewhere like that.

Thanks for help. The final release is good now. I think that in the final release of Karmic the nVidia package was changed, because in RC the package ended with ubuntu8 and in the final was ubuntu9 and I had no issues.
Thanks again.
