can't restart x with kdm

Binary package hint: xorg
Both when starting the computer or after a logout, I'm unable to restart X using KDM.
When I try, the screen goes black then I see a login prompt. This happen 3 times and then nothing.

Hmm, it sounds like X either crashed or exited with an error, but none of the log files show what the error message might be.
Are you still seeing this problem with the released karmic? If so, could you attach your gdm log files (from /var/log/gdm/) ? Thanks!
