Bug Description

Binary package hint: blender

1) Using Ubuntu Karmic Koala (9.10)

2) $ apt-cache policy blender
  Installed: 2.49a+dfsg-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 2.49a+dfsg-0ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 2.49a+dfsg-0ubuntu2 0
        500 http://www.las.ic.unicamp.br karmic/universe Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) Blender should stay on top of everything, even gnome-panel's.

4) Opening blender in full screen mode, with Compiz enabled, makes Gnome-panels stay on top of blender. Moving the window with "Alt + Mouse 1" suggests the window size is correct, but underneath gnome-panels.
Changing to metacity does remove the bug.

Under Compiz's settings, going to "Workarounds" and ticking "Enable legacy Fullscreen Support" Fixes the problem.

Yes, the Legacy Fullscreen support directly affects both wine and other apps that don't fullscreen properly, so this is a dupe of bug 138508
