Compiz limits Application Window size to one screen

When I resize windows on my dual monitor setup, I expect to be able to resize them to span both monitors. (This is especially important to me with remote desktop viewer, because it allows me to drive dual monitor systems without scrolling.) With compiz enabled (desktop effects) I cannot resize windows beyond the dimensions of one screen. When I terminate compiz, I get this functionality back. It sure would be nice if I could do my work and have my beloved wobbly windows as well.
