Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client
I run Karmic rc on this machine. In installed using WLAN connection. Using this connection I also connected an initially downloaded U1. This worked fine so far.
But usually this machine (a netbook) is connected to the net via UMTS(so just right now). I can browse mail and so on, so the connection is OK. But ubuntuone does not really regognize the connection.
watching syncdaemon.log (i have a small shellscript for this due to the problems I encountered in the past), I see a "we are ready" message and MARKS with empty queues. The tray icon has an exclamation mark and gives "connect" when clicked. But it does not connect.
Where can I look?
BTW.: until friday I ran Jaunty here, using U1 beta and it worked via UMTS. This installation used the betavine vodafone driver 2.0beta. Now i have 2.15 of this driver.

Hi Matthias,
This is definitely odd. The log file doesn't give any indication as to what the problem is exactly. Since you're not using NetworkManager, it's possible this is part of the problem, though we normally see log entries to that affect.
Since you're not using NetworkManager, I'd like you to run the following command in a terminal session and report back the output in a comment here:
wget -q http:// launchpadlibrar ian.net/ 34282008/ nm-checker && chmod 755 nm-checker && ./nm-checker
This downloads a small python script (that collects information about the state of NetworkManager on your computer), sets it to executable, and runs the script. If you want to check the script first, please open the URL in your browser first before running the command. :-)
Thank you,
Joshua
