(dapper) system restart independently and unexpectedly

Bug Description
After few or more minutes normal work, suddenly system restart.
No error messages. Hardware probably OK. I use Windows XP also and this bug don't appears. System restart in Gnome and KDE too.

To investigate this kind of bug, we normally need the following information:
1. Please include the output of the command "uname -a" in your next response. It should be one, long line of text which includes the exact kernel version you're running, as well as the CPU architecture.
2. Please run the command "dmesg > dmesg.log" and attach the resulting file "dmesg.log" to this bug report.
3. Please run the command "lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log" and attach the resulting file "lspci-vvnn.log" to this bug report.

But since it has been so long ago, let me just ask:
Have you tried a newer version of Ubuntu with this computer?
Is so, which one? With which results?
