Bug Description

Binary package hint: timer-applet

The timer-package 2.1.2-1ubuntu1 Depends on the whole python-gnome2-desktop package. The package python-gnome2-desktop is a dummy transitional package that should not be used, its components should be directly required.

From the python-gnome2-desktop package description:

This archive contains modules that allow you to write GNOME programs
  in Python.

This is a dummy package that depends from all the modules that used to
be together. You can safely remove it from your system.

Right now the installation of timer-applet brings in unrelated packages like python-gtksourceview or libgnomeprint2.2-data.

This will be fixed on the next sync from Debian (i.e. dropping the Ubuntu
changes).

Kind regards,
