Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

1) sudo lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 9.04
Release: 9.04

2) sudo apt-cache policy firefox
firefox:
  Installed: 3.0.14+build2+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.9.04.1
  Candidate: 3.0.14+build2+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.9.04.1
  Version table:
 *** 3.0.14+build2+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.9.04.1 0

        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     3.0.8+nobinonly-0ubuntu3 0

3) I expected that changes made via:

Edit -> Preferences

would persist immediately after hitting the "Close" button, after exiting the Firefox application, and after an OS restart.

4) Recently installed VMWare Server as per Ubuntu documentation page:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/VMware/Server

After successfully installing VMWare Server, Firefox no longer kept any Preference changes via:

Edit -> Preferences

Tried restarted Firefox, restarting OS, no luck.
