Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Just upgraded to Karmic RC. It worked at first, then I enabled Compiz.
Now the system completely hangs on login, including when I log in as a
different user, and the only way to restart is REISUB. The only way to
get it to work is to log in with Failsafe Gnome.

Have also tried to use a Karmic live USB and the same thing happens.

I use an Intel chipset 945GCT-M2 with no graphics card, and the reason I
upgraded was to try and solve the Intel graphics problems in Jaunty.

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.
