Bug Description

Binary package hint: usplash

The progress bar flickers during boot from a live Karmic Koala release candidate image. Most of the time the bar is not visible, but it flashes into view occasionally.

I did not notice this problem with the last Karmic alpha release. I did not test the Karmic beta.

The Kubuntu logo also dims and brightens slowly during the boot. I assume this is intentional, but it worried me at first -- I thought my laptop was going into a power-saving mode.

I booted from a USB stick created with usb-creator on a Hardy Heron computer from an
karmic-desktop-i386.iso with md5sum eb1cd70846f853aa0c4072b0ce1eb392.

I have no /boot/grub/menu.lst.
