iBook G4 and monitor brightness set when idle

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

By default monitor brightness is set to 70%, when the laptop is idle.

This happens even if monitor brightness is below this value (or even 0). The program should check if the brightness is 0 or below the value, and not touch it if so.

Using latest Dapper Drake (flight 8, I presume)

It does in the CVS version, but the feature wasn't backported as the brightness stuff changed quite a bit between 2-14 and 2-15.

Can you test this on an updated Edgy system so we can see if this issue still exists?

This could be the same as Bug #63543

"Error in automatic diminuition of brightness when idle" which seems to be mac based.
