GCompris' /reading/missing_letter crashes at startup

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gcompris

GCompris just crashes with the following error if started from a terminal:

ERROR:missingletter.c:619:add_xml_data: assertion failed: (l1 != NULL && l2 != NULL && l3 != NULL && answer != NULL && question != NULL)

Maybe it's because of the Chinese locale?

I'm pretty sure that this was resolved in gcompris v9.1 judging from the changelog, and it does have to do with the different locale:

missingletter
  Fixed missingletter crash uppon changing its locale.

What's odd is that I cannot reproduce it on Ubuntu 10.04, which uses gcompris 9.0.
