Bug Description
Binary package hint: gdm
Description: Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
Release: 9.10
gdm:
Installiert: 2.28.0-0ubuntu19
Kandidat: 2.28.0-0ubuntu19
If the login screen appears the ubuntu drum sound are played with full sound power. The loudness level is not adjustable before login and the sound cannot be configured or disabled. Cause there is no gdmsetup like in gdm1 before. This is heavily annoying, give problems if a notebook should be used in public.

Also affected by this, I use my laptop in lectures and was bitten by this sound today in the middle of a lecture.
Please revive at least some of the GDM1 configuration options.
