wish : search functionality (thunderbird/outlook)

as made clear in the linked question, homebank currently lacks a search functionality.
i created this bug to keep track of the progress.

Don't you think it will duplicate the filter (which has the same purpose)
Or do you think about something like a simple textbox on which you can type anything (text, amount) and homebank will display results?

sorry for the long delay:

i am thinking of a lightweight alternative to the filter. so if you have a long list of invoices and the number of a certain invoice you can enter the number and find the correct entry quickly. or if you display an account and want to see only transactions to a certain payee, you just enter the payees name and the list gets filtered.

but it should be a quick thing without much configuration. see the attached video showing the thunderbird quick search tool for an impression of what i mean.

That's what I was thinking about.
But my model was outloook as I use it at work, and ac a similar manner.
I discovered that functionnality recently and think's is now essential.
I currenty implement time reports, but the quick seacrh is the next ;-)

Easy way to do it (my workaround for the moment) : "grep string file.xhb" then formatting results.

A quick search input is now available:
it search into visible transaxction and visible columns (info, memo, payee, category and tags)
