Bug Description

When I try to send an e-mail to <email address hidden> or <email address hidden> with return address <email address hidden>, I keep getting error messages that say "Host hookup failed; Netzero not known." I'm new to Linux and I'm using Ubuntu. There's a lot of terminology associated with e-mail that I've never been able to learn; most FAQs either assume that I know things like the difference between SMTP and POP and/or they answer questions that don't have anything to do with my problem. I think that FAQs are written for a level above mine by people with training in programming. I don't even know what SMTP or POP are. Please send -- or tell me where I can find -- precise, detailed instructions for using Launchpad to send e-mails. I have read the instructions and they somehow don't make sense. I want to be able to send OpenOffice text and general video attachments. Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs .
