Bug Description
Gentoo linux 64bit. Inkscape from SVN at the day of reporting. Python 2.6.
If I create rectangle/square and try Grid rendering extension displacement occurs (as in screenshot). On blank document, page size is used as rendering "box".
Bug is named without mentioning of Grid because similar can happen with other extensions as well.

known issue, unrelated to Python ('Grid' is an internal extension written in C/C++).
Marking as duplicate of bug #401567.
workaround: use
a) 'Extension > Render > Cartesian Grid…' or 'Extension > Render > Polar Grid…'
b) the Live Path Effect 'Construct Grid' and convert the the LPE to path when adjusted
