Bug Description

Binary package hint: gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg

$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 9.04
Release: 9.04

$ apt-cache policy gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg
gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg:
  Installed: 0.10.6.2-1ubuntu2
  Candidate: 0.10.6.2-1ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 0.10.6.2-1ubuntu2 0
        500 http://ubuntu.media.mit.edu jaunty/universe Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

I installed this, at the suggestion of the "search for plugins" dialog box I got when I tried to view some video on a website. Of course, I expected to be able to view the video (streaming video, by the way).

Instead, after the video started, I touched the volume control that is part of the video display pane, and my session crashed. The next thing I saw was the session login screen.
