I download this 3 themes:

Unzip and drag the .tar.gz into the themes window, a message aking if i want to use the theme now or not appear, in yes case the theme is applied in no case nothing happens, but in this 2 cases(y/n) theme thumb(the img preview) don't appear on the list, still only the Ubuntu themes.

The issue is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)

Same issue for Ubuntu 10.10.

Additionally, misleading bug messages arise when trying to install a theme that has already been installed, but does not show up on the list.

When using the theme installer (invocated e.g. from Firefox after downloading a theme file from gnome.org): "this file does not seem to be a valid theme file" (even though it obviously is, as it was "successfully" installed earlier and worked when set into immediate effect instead of opting to have it added to the list, what fails without warnig).

When using gnome-appeareance-settings the following message gets shown: "Installation for theme '4DWM' failed." - "Can't move directory over directory". Still, while it might benefit the techy user, this does not help Joe Random.

I've opened a bug in Gnome BTS as well: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=635960

As gnome-control-center doesn't exist anymore in Gnome 3, the bug has been marked won't-fix in Gnome's BTS.

That configuration dialog is deprecated in GNOME3 and Oneiric so closing the bug, feel free to open new bugs about other issues you might find though
