To continue this separate from bug #44443, test cases fail in -O mode of python.

This is much better after 0.11, I just ran it and found:
FAILED (failures=4, errors=3)

And some of those are plugins. But it would be nice to close this for 0.12. Perhaps the pqm should run the test suite with -O mode.

Some of these failures are because we test whether an assertion is raised. So to close this bug, we'd have to
a) stop testing assertions or
b) stop using assertions
