Binary package hint: update-manager-core
Using Ubuntu 9.04 fully updated upgraded with no error on packages
i'm trying to upgrade the 9.04 release 32 bit to karmic development release (oct 15 2009) with
sudo do-release-upgrade -d
Here the error... i get and in attach the apt.log and main.log compressed tar.gz

trying to upgrade a clean xubuntu installation to karmic by calling "update-manager", the same crash happens here
trying to call "apt-get -d dist-upgrade" after the crash leads to the same error after some packages have been downloaded
some fix was made in apt for https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ apt/+bug/ 385144
but this fix was not applied to jaunty, seemingly
