I tried to install updates and xfce, was forced to cold boot my system, and was unable to boot up afterwords. I repaired my system, and received errors.

I am using Ubuntu Karmic Koala x64 Beta Linux kernel 2.6.31-13
I am using basically the latest version of synaptic
I expected xfce to install and other updates
I got errors instead
