launchpad refuses to verify my OpenID

The error is:

A site identifying as https://sourceforge.net has asked us for confirmation that https://launchpad.net/~hramrach is your identity URL. However, that is not a valid Launchpad OpenID identity URL, such as https://launchpad.net/~USER

This is clearly not tru because the OpenID is exactly in the form requested, and it even used to work.

I couldn't reproduce this one. Is there any more info that you can provide that would help debug this issue?

Steps I took:
1. Open https://sourceforge.net
2. Click Log In
3. Clicked open id provider logo
4. Entered open id url: https://launchpad.net/~matsubara and clicked log in
5. Got redirected to https://login.launchpad.net/+openid...
6. Clicked the Sign In button since I was previously logged in on Launchpad
7. Got redirected back to https://sourceforge.net/account/, logged in as matsubara

This is a duplicate of a Launchpad bug from a few days ago; SourceForge.net rolled out a fix yesterday.

It works for me now .

So SF was doing something wrong and Launchapad produced wrong error message in response to that error.

I have run into this problem as well. I can still reproduce it using the example page for apache2's mod-auth-openid. This page is at: http://coop.butterfat.net/~bmuller/mod_auth_openid/othersecret/

I opened a ticket with that developer, it is located at: http://trac.butterfat.net/public/mod_auth_openid/ticket/74 but I figured I would report it on both ends since that example page works for me with other openid providers.

So you get steps how to reproduce the error reliably and the response is to mark it invalid.
