[karmic] can not connect to hidden wireless, button grayed

Binary package hint: network-manager

i can not connect to new hidden connection or existing one with WEP/WPA . the connect button is grayed. my guess this is connected to gnome keyring which network manager unable to retrive wep key for the connection.
