Bug Description

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

Using epiphany-browser (webkit) 2.28.0-4ubuntu1 on Ubuntu Karmic beta quite regularly I have had regular crashes on everything. It seems pages with photos tend to crash a lot more and the display gets corrupted as well. Then clicking on those images (URL link) systematically crashes the browser.

I can reproduce it on photo.net by trying to click on the photo of the week. I get this in terminal:

console message: @1: Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL http://photo.net/ from frame with URL http://tag.admeld.com/ad/iframe/115/photo/728x90/ros?01AD=2-2-5CD13074DB81BC214B187F5FF6CE4F5C1D879B4865340C2BD3167904851C7841-E95C45FA2C3627AB9833835BB7B4DF1B0F79C830B865EFF2A2B790B407B51A25&01RI=76BA3249BF3230E&01NA=&t=1255483797005&url=http%3A//photo.net/. The program 'epiphany-browser' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 2597 error_code 9 request_code 55 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Let me know if I need to try anything else.

What else should I do now. The crashes are systematic and the display is also all weird with patches of the screen being moved on the right.

As you can see on deviantart, there is both the same display issue (highlighted in red) and then the crashes.

Please, reopen.

I have the same bug since karmic. And now in lucid again. I cannot load 3 pages without epiphany crashing.

I think it is fixed. I removed an old flash installation:

rm ~/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so
