Hi Mark,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 449848

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

the above is using up to date 10.04. Suspend/resume still doesn't work.

Next will be using the mainline kernel dated 21st April.

hmm, ok, well same result, although slightly different symptoms.

This time it didn't seem to go in to suspend properly, fan was still going.

Ran the same command "apport-collect -p linux 449848" but it's not uploading the info here, as it said it should be reported elsewhere.

Still problem in x86 version of "stable" lucid/10.04 version. Waking up from hibernation/suspend just hangs whole computer. Wireless for amilo li1718 is broken too :-(
What an "update", ahh :-(

@#25:
Same here with the resume problem.
off: Are you sure, that wireless is broken for you? Cause it is fine for me. Try running "sudo modprobe acer-wmi" without quotes.
If it fixes the problem for you, than add it to the /etc/modules file without quotes and sudo. I'm sure, it'll help.

Thanks for info Karesz. I was using just a liveCD. Have you installed "software modem" 'restricted' driver or no? In RC1+3days wifi worked, now not again..
