Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.
At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's "Help -> Report a Problem" menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

Extras:

1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem:

Loads in the Live CD Ubuntu 9.10 beta. Opened in Nautilius 2.28.0 the directory Examples (/usr/share/example-content). Double-click on the located in this directory file Aesop's_Fables, _Volume_1_ (Fable_1) _-_The_Fox_and_The_Grapes.spx. The file is played program Totem Movie Player 2.28.0 (Movie Player using GStreamer 0.10.24 (prerelease).
Then I press the button "pause". Then press this same button, which should begin
reproduction of the audio file. However Totem freezes and stops responding to mouse clicks.

2. the behavior you expected,

I expect that after clicking on "pause" button, it turn into a "play" button. After a second click on this button the file will be played. This has happened with other audio files (ogg, ogv) and these files plays without error.

3. the behavior you actually encountered

I find that in this case, the button "pause" button does not turn into button "play", the program does not respond to clicks. The program window is not closed, even if you press the button "Close Window". The work program is completed by force, through a panel applet "force a misbehaving application to quit".

Apparently, we are talking about the audio format (files with "spx"), but was unable to check it on other such files, because I have no other files in that format.

Sorry for my bad English
