Bug Description
Evaluate all of the scripts currently being used in the Karl customization packages and determine which, if any, can be moved to core. One solution that has been proposed, to allow flexibility in customization packages while avoiding duplicate maintenance of code, is to move the code for particular scripts to Karl but still require the customization package to declare them as entry points in its setup.py.
