My upload was not related to translations

That file seems to mix Latin-1 encoded strings (initial comment at the top of the file) with UTF-8 translations below, and thus can't be imported by Launchpad.

Launchpad notifies you because you are the most likely person to be able to do something about it (i.e. it's probably an upstream problem, but Launchpad doesn't know yet how it can notify upstream, so it tries the next best thing: a packager). I suggest you (or someone else) file a bug upstream for this file.

I am also adding ubuntu-translations bugtask since they might be the "someone else" who'd take care of it for us :)

Can someone from Ubuntu Catalan team take a look at gpaint translation from Karmic.

Acording to Danilo's comment, the catalan translation is not imported into Launchpad since it has mixed codepages.

Marking as invalid as gpaint is not being translated in Launchpad any more
