Bug Description

I'm not sure whether this is a dupe or not. This is a desktop system based on ASUS P5B (newest BIOS as of last month, didn't check after that as new BIOSes for this one have become rare), with Intel Core2Duo E8400 CPU, MSI Nvidia 8600 GT graphics, Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS sound, no other plug-in cards beyond those two. All disks are SATA, IDE is disabled; the onboard sound is disabled too.

The system seems to suspend just fine (all fans turn off, no video, blinking power LED), but doesn't wake up again. All kinds of wake-ups were active in the BIOS setup, except for "wake up on RTC alarm". Still, neither the mouse nor the keyboard (both PS/2) did anything.

ProblemType: KernelOops
Annotation: This occured during a previous suspend and prevented it from resuming properly.

Have same problem with ASUS M2N-SLI motherboard; 2xEVGA Nvidia 7950 KO cards, Creative X-Fi sound (both PCI-E); all SATA peripherals. Suspend in 9.04 worked just fine.

Hi Linards,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 449149

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

Same problem persists in the new release (and as I wrote before, had no problem in 9.04, started with 9.10). Goes to sleep fine, but if I do not press keys on keyboard (usually space bar) prior to resuming, it would not wake up and, when power button is pressed, it boots up from scratch.
