Base EDIT option on toolbar not positioned below the toolbar

In OpenOffice Base 3.0.1 000300M15 Build 9379 I open a table. When I choose the EDIT option in the task bar at the top it opens covering the other VIEW, INSERT, FORMAT and TABLE. When I click away from that, the EDIT options are still visible outside the window boundaries.

The attached file shows what happens now when the Forms selection in the left window is selected .. Tables open normally now. I think I will simply remove and reinstall the OpenOffice.

Wow that looks like a video driver problem.

This bug report was filed against an old version of Ubuntu.
