Bug Description
I had not noticed any malfunction but the system reported the apt-xapian-index crash. I am not really aware of what this means although I presume it relates to apt or synaptic.
I cannot be sure when the crash occurred as the netbook had been running for several hours. I had only installed and updated the OS earlier today and had some problem with the clock appearing to be set 10 hours in the future. My time zone is 10 hours ahead of UTC (GMT) but I don't know if this had any impact on the crash.
The netbook is an Acer ZG5 (AOA110) supplied with Windows XP, but I have installed Ubuntu on a usb stick.
I hope this is useful as I like using Ubuntu and use 8.04 Kubuntu on my main desktop. It sure beats Windows!
