Can you please try the following and report back:

Remove the ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu package, then attempt an install.

If the install is successful, please boot the live CD a second time so you get the slideshow package back. Go into Preferences -> Software Sources -> Other Software and add "ppa:evand/ppa", then let it reload your configuration. Install libwebkit-1.0-2, then make sure you have the correct version from my ppa. The output of `dpkg -s libwebkit-1.0-2 | grep Version` should be 1.1.15.2-1~evand. Try an install again.

Please let me know via this bug report whether removing the slideshow package fixed the bug, and if so, whether adding the version of webkit from my ppa also fixed the bug.

Thanks!

I got ubuntu installed with the alternate disk. But unfortunatly that problem only occured on a specific computer (have installed 5 pc's so far and only this one didn't play fair) and that computer i had to give back to the owner. So i can't test it at the moment. I'll try and find another computer in storage, that exhibits that same symptoms and try that out.

Sorry for the inconvinience.

Since you reported this against a development version of Xubuntu Karmic, we are closing this report. If this can be reproduced using the final version of Xubuntu 9.10, please comment and change the status to 'new' in the yellow line.
