Bug Description
Hi,
On my system (and seems that others are affected) switching from the X server to any tty using Ctrl+Alt+Fx keys results in some kind of nice paint artwork. The problem is that you cannot use any ttys since nothing is written on the screen. However you can continue to type in commands, and they're correctly taken into account.
I do not use any framebuffer parameters when booting, my boot string in grub is :
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-
The issue appeared after kernel upgrade to 2.6.31-13-generic, it was absent from 2.6.31-11-generic. The problem is that at the same time there was an NVidia driver upgrade, to I don't know if this is kernel-related or nvidia-driver related. However I think kernel is more likely to be affected.
Seems that it does not affect all the users, especially the ones with Intel X drivers. Someone with en EeePC was not affected, see there in French :

This bug is quite critical I think, since it's critical to get vts sometimes to get out some blocking situations.
Rgds,
gojul
