Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

9.10 Karmic Koala

gnome-power-manager:
  Installed: 2.28.0-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 2.28.0-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 2.28.0-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Removing the power cord causes apparent suspend. Screen is blanked and user is logged out. If the system is started on battery and the power cord is then plugged in, the screen is merely blanked, the user is not logged out. Touching a key ineither case restores the screen...to login window in the former case.

One expects only a notification or icon change when the power cord is unplugged. Refiling this as the only other instance I found of this bug occurs in 2006.
