ubuntu crashs when you encrease the size of the vlc media player xvideo output

Bug Description

Binary package hint: vlc

When you encrease the size of the vlc (xvideo output) window ubuntu crashs without any errors.
With x11 output the same happens.

What crashes? VLC or X or the whole the system or what?
