Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

When attaching an external monitor to my laptop (Samsung N110 with Intel GMA 950) and pressing the screen switch key, both screens go black and freeze, mouse pointer appears on external screen but can't be moved. Can't access virtual terminals with Ctrl-Alt-F1 and reboot required. 100% reproducible. Only occurs when compiz is enabled (default).

Agree that the symptoms in 419328 look to be exactly what I am seeing.
