Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

In Karmic, using the 'Display' to setup the dual head monitor setting result in the virtual resolution not being set properly.

Step to reproduce:
1- Start gnome-display-properties
2- Enable two monitors with mirroring.
       -1920x1080 + 1400x1050
3- Click OK
4- A message box ask me if I want to change the virtual screen resolution.
5- I Answer 'Yes'
6- I logout and login
7- Looking at xorg.org file the tool have set the virtual resolution to 2048 x 2048

This is more of a workaround than a bug (so that you can switch to higher resolutions without breaking 3D acceleration).

1) Are you experiencing problems with the virtual resolution set to 2048 x 2048?
2) What graphics card are you using?
3) Can you attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log , please?

Ok, I understand the point, but it's not the expected behaviour. The best would be to make that distinction. So If I setup the dual head monitor so that the virtual screen resolution is greater than the maximum 3D resolution of the card, it's should notify the user about it at the same time it's asking update the virtual screen resolution automatically.

Here is my video card :
VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc M22 [Mobility Radeon X300]
