Binary package hint: sabayon

Problem description: Sabayon crashes when creating a profile that includes a read-only launcher on the desktop

Steps to reproduce:

Launch sabayon and create a profile, proceed to edit it.

Probably an issue in the storage delegate. I'll dig into it.

Hmmm, I tried duplicating this tonight, but I can't get it to fail for me.

I'm wondering if you could do the following:

in /root, create a file called sabayon-debug-log.conf, with the following lines:

[debug log]
   max lines = 5000
   enable domains = user-profile;storage;panel-delegate;gconf-source;files-source;mozilla-source;proto-session;usermod;dir-monitor;user-db;cache;admin-tool;sabayon-apply;sabayon-session

The last line should be all one line, separated by semicolons, with no spaces.

Re-run your test case, and post the debug log.

Thanks!

Hi Scott,

Here's the debug log after running the test case with the new debug log configuration. Sorry for the delay...

I've got a much newer sabayon in my ppa. Can you give that one a try? I think the new one that correctly handles symlinks may help you.

My test case is against Jaunty. Could it be possible for you to upload a Jaunty package to your ppa?

Well, I've tried, and the current sabayon won't build on jaunty, owing to gnome-doc-utils being too old.

Any chance you can test on Karmic or Lucid? The fixed symlink handling seems to fix that for me.

Hi, I am getting also the similar result with ubuntu 10.04

Is there a fix already? I really should get this fixed here at the school.

Thanks, Csaba

This configuration for the debug log can be re-created
by putting the following in /etc/sabayon/sabayon-debug-log.conf
(use ';' to separate domain names):

[debug log]
max lines = 1000
