Bug Description
Binary package hint: x11-xserver-utils
In Jaunty, I used the command: " sudo xrandr --output VGA --mode 1280x1024@60 "
as an alias to switch my Lenovo X61 laptop screen to my external 20 " LCD monitor.
When I run this command in Karmic when on the on-board display, it does not switch to the external display at all.
I would like to keep this functionality with xrandr if possible.
Thank you, Stefan

I have a similar problem. When I dock my laptop at work its connected to a pair of external monitors which for some reason I've needed a shell script to configure them. However at some point in the karmic release cycle the script stopped working. The DVI output doesn't change resolution and the VGA output never enables. However if I do the equivalent steps through gnome-display- properties it works.
